When I mention, what I do for a living, a common response is "Oh, horses are such beautiful animals!". I can only agree, horses are beautiful animals. Having said that, I owe you an explanation. I know, how most people see this beauty, with images of "Black Beauty", "Hidalgo", "Dreamer", and other memorable big screen horses. I see that beauty too, as I glance over the outer shell, until I find myself glaring into the most beautiful sight to meet the eye, the window to their soul. The warmth and softness, I find there, just beyond isolated clouds of fear, pain, or feelings of abandonment and neglect, is the true beauty of these magnificent animals. With an open mind and heart, the horse is born into our human world. Most of them are passed from home to home during their life, none-the-less, being cared for by the people on their path. The rest, shall we call them the forgotten equines, well, I just pray, their journey will lead them to a peaceful haven..."Happy" found his way to Toby's Equine Rescue!
